**NEW**

October 8, 2008 - Kim announced that as an added benefit to the songwriting groups participating in the All For The Group promotion, she will be giving a free song critique to the second and third place winners in each round. The work tape of the writers song and Kim's critique will both be posted on the individual group's page.  We encourage you to check back often to hear each of the new critiques as they are posted and to learn ways to tweak and improve your own songs.

July 21, 2008—The benefits songwriters gain from being part of a "group" have never been better. Independent producer Kim Copeland is going all out to support the efforts of songwriters and songwriter organizations around the world, through her “All For The Group” promotion.

Being part of a group and sharing information and knowledge is a huge benefit for writers of all levels. From providing info about pitch possibilities, to critiquing each others material and bringing in guest speakers, these groups are the gateway to a writer’s growth. She says, "This is a small way that I can help these organizations increase their membership and in turn help more songwriters grow, both creatively and in their understanding of how the music business works."

Through her production company, Kim will be recording a free, fully produced song demo for the "best song" from each of 5 songwriting groups. Her demos feature a full band of professional Nashville A-session players, lead and background vocals by a professional demo singer and her production, all recorded in a major Nashville recording studio. She provides her clients with a full mix of their song, a tracks only (kareoke) mix, a copy of the Nashville Number System chart used by the band, and a dvd with the digital audio files.

Since 2001, Kim Copeland has been recording top quality demo projects for songwriters in an effort to try and level the playing field and teach songwriters who do not live in Nashville what it takes to get in the game. Kim feels that there are a lot of undiscovered talented songwriters out there whose songs are being ignored or overlooked because of "presentation" and a lack of understanding about how publishers and A&R reps listen to songs.

In addition to top quality demos, Kim Copeland is well known for her album production. She has worked with artists in most genres of music and has seen her work reach top ten numbers on the music charts. She is passionate about working with singer/songwriters because "bringing the song to life at the same time you are helping the artist/songwriter achieve their best performance is a real high. I love helping songwriters and artists find their voice and their audience."

Groups and individuals interested in learning more about the "All For The Group" promotion should send an email to songconnection@aol.com and request to become a member of The Songwriters Connection.

The Songwriters Connection has been helping songwriters since 1996 and Kim is one of the top mentors for the organization. Kim Copeland Productions is also the sponsor of their free weekly songwriting E-Tip. She has opted to run the competition through them, as she felt this would be a larger group helping many smaller groups. "When we all come together, we can accomplish great things," she says.

The Georgie Music Industry Association (GMIA)

First of all, a BIG Thank-you to Songwriter’s Connection and Kim Copeland Productions, for recognizing the songwriting groups out there. At this time I would like for you to consider The Georgia Music Industry Association (GMIA) for the great and amazing opportunity that is being offered…. ALL FOR THE GROUP.

I am currently VP of our group, which is celebrating its 30th year. It originally started out as the Atlanta Songwriter’s Association and over the years has grown and expanded into welcoming anyone in the music business but with its main focus being on songwriting.
We also welcome all genres. We currently are in a rebuilding mode with new leadership, but the response has been awesome to the “change.” We currently have monthly workshops with song critiques, and we will be a part of some upcoming Fall festivals.
GMIA also offers networking opportunities, and we have recently added a Member Profile section on our website that can be of great benefit for our members.

Quite a few past directors and members have moved on to Nashville and other places and are doing quite well in the business, and we are also fortunate to have support of the ones who have stayed in the Atlanta area and are still heavily involved in the music field. The Lowery Group out of Atlanta has been a great supporter of GMIA through the years also.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

Committed to educating and serving those who desire to have a career in music, whether creative or technical, GMIA has a "special emphasis" on songwriting -- the foundation of the music industry.

I am excited to be a part of this group and think that some of the greatest talent on earth is right here in Georgia. We welcome this opportunity!

Sincerely,

Shelia Quattlebaum
GMIA, VP
