April 24, 2008
Hey everybody! Well, the year is one quarter
over and I am just now getting to write my first blog of
2008! Wow, has it been fun and flown fast! I hope you are
all having as much fun as I am and partaking in the amazing
creative energy that is swirling all around us this year.
I have enjoyed meeting and working with
songwriters from all over the world! Recentclients have come
from Canada, Mexico and even Denmark to record with me here
in Nashville!
I’ve also been very busy in the studio finishing up
a couple of album projects that I am really proud of. Amy
Arton is just beginning her journey with her new album “Summer
Day” and Janet McLaughlin is riding her new album, “Shine
in the Moon” to all kinds of new places. She is doing
radio interviews and performances and creating new audiences
for her music by thinking and promoting outside the box.
She recently had cd release parties at Eddie’s Attic,
in Atlanta and Bluebird Café in Nashville. I am so
proud of both of them and honored to be
a part of their projects! We had a wonderful
time together in the studio! Along with
producing, they both allowed me to sing
some background vocals as well!
I’m continuing to introduce songwriters to the experience
of big league sessions for their song demos
and help existing clients build their catalogs
with great demos. Any day I get
to hang in the studio with amazing musicians
and create music is a blessed day indeed!
(If you haven’t
checked out my video of “a day in the studio…”,
please do! If you haven’t yet experienced a day in the
studio with me….what are you waiting for? I’m ready
when you are.)
When I’m not busy in the studio, my Border Collie puppy,
Maddi keeps me on my toes. She just turned
8 months old and goes to the office with
me everyday. (She likes the studio
too, but sometimes my days are too long
for her.) We try to get to the dog park
as often as we can and we play in
our own huge yard with the vast array of
toys and sticks we have. (Frisbee is her
new favorite!) She has really enjoyed
meeting you all too. She loves songwriters!
We just learned that Rachel (Williams)
has been invited to have a booth and to
perform at CMA Fan Fest again this year,
so we are busy with designing her booth
and planning for those events. She will
have three shows during the 4 day event.
I will be rehearsing the band and
singing backup for her, so we’re all looking forward
to that. I hope if you are planning to
attend, you will stop by her booth and
say hello.
I want to thank each and every one of you
for the sunlight you bring into my world.
I have made so many new friends of you
and been honored to witness your
success and share your joy. To the production
clients who have signed their first publishing
contracts, hired their
first songpluggers, gotten their first
infamous “holds” and
to those of you who have enjoyed your first cuts……HUGE congratulations!!!
What a great year this is turning out to
be! Stay in touch and keep thinking creative
thoughts! (top)
