She hires a minimum of 5 top session players including drums, bass, keys, electric guitar and acoustic guitar, plus whatever color instruments you choose to include. All players are in the studio at the same time working together to create a great, signature sound for your songs.

Kim never stacks parts (records just rhythm tracks and brings in the lead instruments at a later date). Why? Because she knows the importance of having the “whole team” there at recording time, using their creativity and expertise to bring your song to life.

The musicians listen to a rough “work tape” of each song with Kim and discuss the key aspects, (attitude, tempo, drum fills and groove, arrangement and instrumentation) while reading down the Nashville number chart. They then play through the song a few times and finally record the music tracks, including overdubs to make the song sound full and interesting (basically like a record.) Even though there may be only five musicians in the room, you may have eight or nine musical tracks on your final recording.

You can sing all the scratch vocals or Kim will hire a vocalist to sing a scratch vocal during the recording process. This is so that the musicians can build the musical track around the vocal (very important part of the song). If it is determined that a bar of music needs to be added to enhance the vocal line, that change is made on the spot with a simple chart correction and everyone records from the new and improved arrangement.
