Bio
I am the fortunate facilitator of a wonderful group of writers known as The Woodlands Songwriters Association. The Woodlands is located 30 miles north of downtown Houston, TX. I co-founded The Woodlands Songwriters Association in July 2005, as an alternative to driving 75 miles or more to go to the NSAI Houston Chapter meetings as well as to the Houston/Ft. Bend Songwriters meetings. Borders Books has been our gracious host from day one. We have a monthly showcase at a local coffeehouse/ restaurant, and currently have over 100 members in our MySpace group. We have a core group of about 10 to 15 writers that come fairly regularly each month, along with curiosity seekers and visitors, making our meetings around 20+ each month. We celebrate and encourage all genres of songwriting. We occasionally offer a program or guest speaker, but mostly, our writers enjoy the fellowship and the opportunity to get their music heard and critiqued, as well as hearing fresh ideas from others. It’s a super, all-inclusive group; no dues, no formalities, just camaraderie.
Our Mission Statement:
WSA is an organization offering an environment of support, information and creative inspiration to the songwriter hobbyist or to those wanting to advance to a more professional level, by providing opportunities to learn more about the craft and business of songwriting and to form creative partnerships and networking among fellow songwriters. WSA is open to anyone who wants to be a part of a network of songwriters of all levels. Meeting the 2nd Monday each month at Borders Books, Market Street, The Woodlands, TX, 7:00pm.
Thanks for offering this Great Amazing Opportunity to us!

Kudos for Kim Copeland Productions
"On
behalf of The Woodlands (TX)
Songwriters Association,
we would like to thank you
for giving our members the
opportunity to get a professionally
produced demo of our songs.
We had a high percentage
of our members that sent
in music for consideration,
and we congratulate BOB SIMPSON
on his winning song, “Keep
On Loving You”. The
production by Kim Copeland
and her highly talented musicians,
vocalist and engineer created
a first-rate recording of
Bob’s song, keeping
the integrity of his simple,
classic delivery and writing
style, but with a little
more Nashville “punch” in
the mix.
As
facilitator of WSA, I encourage
all songwriting groups to
jump on this fabulous opportunity
offered by Songwriters Connection
and Kim Copeland Productions,
and not because it’s
just a really great, freebie
kind of deal; there is so
much more of a reward in
the learning curve of the
entire process. Sometimes
songwriters need to be pushed
a bit, from both the creative
side and the business side,
to take their craft to the
next level and fully realize
their creative potential.
For the songwriting hobbyists,
hearing their song professionally
produced can be a wonderfully
validating experience and
a great encourager for them
to keep on their songwriting
journey. For the songwriter
who endeavors to create music
to market on a professional
level, the quality of the
production and tier of talent
utilized in a typical Kim
Copeland production is a
benchmark of excellence to
be aspired to, when submitting
a single song or catalog
of work to potential music
industry producers, publishers,
artists or their representatives.
Thanks
again for the outstanding
process in creating such
a multi-level, win-win opportunity:
- A
win for Bob Simpson- He got
an incredible demo out of
the deal to further his songwriting
journey.
- A
win for Woodlands Songwriters
Association- We got a great
opportunity to offer up our
best songs, make a deadline,
and support one another in
the process.
- A
win for Songwriters Connection-
Creating a launch pad for
songwriting organizations
to have some time in the
spotlight on a national/international
level, and continuing to
connect songwriters everywhere.
- A
win for Kim Copeland Productions-
Further cementing herself
and her team of professionals
in the music industry as
well as expanding her potential
client base of songwriters
looking for high quality
recordings of their work.
I
can’t wait to see what
Songwriters Connection cooks
up for us next! If
I can be of any assistance
to you or Kim, please count
me in!
Best,
Connie
Mims"
"
I wanted to drop you a note
of Thanks for all that you
have
done. Your generosity is unbelievable.
The recording of "Keep On
Loving You" turned out fantastic.
Who are the singers, musicians,
etc?
Your support of our Woodlands
Songwriters Association is greatly
appreciated by everyone. Connie
Mims has done a great job of
informing us of songwriting
contests, tutorials, workshops,
etc. We are very lucky to have
her as our leader. She is a great
songwriter and performer in her
on right. She's good looking
too, but don't tell her I said
all those things, she already
has a big head (LOL).
Thanks again.
Stay in touch,
Bob Simpson"
